The little town of St Marys has the prettiest little park right on the waterfront. It's a little ways from the dock for the Cumberland Island ferry and right next to a fabulous sea food restaurant.Langs is known (locally) for their excellent shrimp. They catch their own every day.
But this park has rules for behavior, NO PROFANITY.

Tabby Ruins
These old ruins of the local sugar mill were an interesting site. It displays the use of tabby, a mixture of concrete and sea shells, as a building medium. This gave the structures a good foundation and strength.
Max enjoyed running around inside the ruins.
St Marys, Georgia
Pretty little coastal town in south Georgia has many interesting sites and lovely little shops and restaurants.

It's Monday
It's Ladies' day at Shoot straight in Apopka, Fl and it's the time we normally go shooting, but not today. We left Apopka on Friday and I'll miss shooting with my friends.
Have fun Dixie and Happy Birthday.
Paradise, just a memory
We packed it up and left Florida on Friday, March 8th. It was sad to leave some of our dearest friends on the planet. It's just nice to know these are the people we will spend eternity with.
Our drive was not long and it was uneventful as we drove into the lovely coastal area of Georgia.
We can't wait to do some exploring.

Quilt show
Yesterday morning I had the pleasure of attending the 2013 Quilt Fever quilt show, hosted by the Florida Cabin Fever Quilters Guild. It was an enjoyable day, but I have to admit my favorite part of these shows is the vendor side. I think it's fun to poke around all the quilt shops and see what new and interesting products they have brought with them.
I do enjoy looking at the quilts, but I don't spend a lot of time studying them.
I enjoyed my day with my friend, Donna and her sister Connie. We had a lot of fun planning future projects. I am going to make some pajama pants with this fabric that I bought at the show.

Bucket List Part II
So after viewing the gorgeous sun rise we headed west to the area of Tampa Bay. We have vacationed there a few times and really love this side of the state and it's beaches.
Now according to the weather reports it was supposed to rain this day. We really didn't think it would be a big deal since they had called for rain many times with little result. And it should clear off before sunset anyway.
So off we went.
As we drove west we could see quite a stormy looking cloud bank moving toward us. Soon we were socked into a thick cloudy soup with heavy mist and rain.
We drove out across the St.Petetsburg, Sunshine Skyway bridge, normally a beautiful drive, but there was no sunshine this day.
After driving around in the soup all day, we had a late lunch, then went to find a good spot to take a picture at the beach.
We actually ended up driving through Siesta key and Longboat key and ended up in Bradenton. We found a very nice spot and just after 5 pm the clouds began to break up. So that sun we had seen rise out of the ocean several hours earlier met us here. The day had been gloomy and stormy but in the end we were not disappointed.

Bucket List
Check one off our bucket list.
A couple of weeks ago we did something we had not done while living here in Florida for 20 years. We had seen the sun rise over the ocean and we had seen the sun set into the Gulf of Mexico. But I wanted to do both in one day and Florida is one place you can easily do this.
So we set out early in the morning and headed to Daytona Beach for the 7:15am sunrise.
Now getting access to the beach at that hour is harder than you might think, with all the hotels and condos now, there is precious little public beach access.
Bill is no quitter, and at last found a little park area at Daytona Beach Shores where we could get out and wait as the sun made it's way through the clouds. It was really nice.
Next post "The sun going down".

Happy New Year
Happy 2013 everyone. Our prayer is for joy and peace this year. "Even so come quickly Lord Jesus."
We spent a very quiet new year's eve at home in our camper watching a Twilight Zone marathon.
Nothing special is planned for today except I may have lunch with a friend and do a little shopping.
Have a great day and a hopeful year.
